About Us

Our Expertise Can’t Be Beaten

At Utility Location Services, all of our surveyors have over 15 years’ experience surveying a wide range of sites throughout the UK and overseas. Our experience and expertise ensures that we have the ability to undertake even the most complex surveys, and provide every client with peace of mind that their survey is accurate and can be relied upon.

At Utility Location Services, we support the new standard, PAS 128, and will gladly complete any survey to this specification.

Our Equipment and Methods

Radio Detection

Advancements in technology mean that utility location has improved greatly, with location and depth accuracy to within +/-5%. Here at Utility Location Services, our Electro-magnetic location equipment uses the latest software and locating technology. This enables us to separate multiple cables in heavily congested areas, where other location equipment would fail.

Our equipment allows us to connect either directly or by using induction to generate a signal (frequency) into a specific utility. This signal is then carried down the connected utility via a high powered transmitter, where it is then detected by the receiver, allowing for us to precisely and accurately locate the positioning of the utility in question.

Our Equipment and Methods

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR)

Our Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) equipment utilises the latest software, allowing our operators to scan large areas without intrusion – this allows total preservation of the survey area. Many GPR systems allow forward scanning only, however, due to the unique software developed by Mala, we’re able to scan areas where other GPR systems would fail.

The use of GPR allows our operators to locate all non-conductive and conductive underground services, and allows for the identification of voids and other such anomalies. The Mal CX12 has been specifically designed as a concrete image unit for locating reinforcing and to relay information regarding concrete. Void and soffit location is also achievable in structures such as coffer dams, railway bridges, and more.
